With state of the art facilities and professional trainers with many years experience, North West Training Council (NWTC) Gas Centre in Halewood, Liverpool ( PfL Building) is in a prime position to support the up-skilling of gas engineers in and around the North West.  Our comprehensive portfolio of programmes includes the following:

  • ACS Commercial Gas Heating Training and Assessment: CODNCO1/COCN1, CORT1, CDGA1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1/TPCP1A (Initial and Re Assessment)

  • ACS Domestic Gas Training and Assessment: CCN1 and Appliances Initial and Re-Assessment

  • CPA1 initial and Re Assessment

  • Appliances (CKR1, CENWAT, WAT1, HTR1, MET1, DAH1) Initial and Re-Assessment

  • CONGLP1 in PD, RPH, LAV, Boats Initial and Re-Assessment

  • CCLP1 in PD, RPH, LAV, Boats Initial and Re-Assessment

  • CMDDA1 (Fumes Investigation)

NB All above are accredited by UK Certification (Ltd)

  • Unvented Hot Water Training and Assessment (NICEIC)

  • Water Regulations (NICEIC)

  • Initial Gas Qualification - for people with some experience in the gas/plumbing industry or a relevant industry, who lack the necessary qualifications to allow them access to ACS assessment (UK Certification (Ltd))

  • Electrical Safety for Gas Engineers (NICEIC)

  • Gas Awareness Courses

  • Update Training

Have you heard about IGEM/UP/1B Edition 4? This is a major update to low pressure gas tightness testing and purging. It shifts the standard from meter-based to volume-based testing. Edition 3 and Edition 4 will run concurrently until September 30, 2026. Following this date, only Edition 4 procedures will be accepted by Gas Safe Register. NWTC’s Gas Training centre is currently offering half- day training sessions on the above.  Please contact the centre for more details
