Vacancy description

Working alongside experienced and qualified staff you will learn about and be fully skilled in the manufacture of the company’s woven and rubber products.
Your role will involve setting and operating the varied range of machines in the company that manufacture woven and rubber products.
You will be answerable directly to the woven/rubber chargehand.
The role will involve adhering to ISO 9000 quality standards and will require a strong emphasis on Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications required

5 GCSE grades C or above in Maths, English, Science and preferably Design and Technology or equivalent.

Future prospects


  • Apprenticeship leads to permanent employment.
  • Further in-house and external training and development available for the right candidate.
  • For the right candidate, possible continuation of education and academic studies i.e. HNC.

Training provider

Training to be provided

Advanced Engineering Apprenticeships normally last four years during which time you will attend our Training Centre or a college one day per week for basic training and Further Education.

The remainder of your time will be spent with your employer, training in Engineering. NWTC will monitor your Apprenticeship on a regular basis to ensure you complete your National Vocational Qualification (N.V.Q.) Level 3 Diploma, BTEC National Diploma and Functional Skills, which will lead to a certificate of Advanced Apprenticeship.

During your Apprenticeship your employer would normally pay you a percentage of the skilled persons rate for each year of training.
