2012 Visit by German Apprentices to Liverpool

In June of this year, we welcomed 24 apprentices from Cologne. The exchange visit has been a regular feature of the NWTC calendar for many years and strong ties have built up between NWTC and the Handwerkskammer over this period.  June McKay and Jean McCormick guided our visitors who were entertained with a diverse itinerary for their 5 day visit, having the opportunity to explore the magnificent Liverpool Town Hall, followed by a visit to the beautiful village of Port Sunlight and a trip to explore the ruins of Chester. Visits to the Beatles and Maritime Museums were followed by a trip on the famous yellow Duck Bus! Gertag Ford kindly hosted lunch followed by a tour of the factory, providing the apprentices with the opportunity to see firsthand the working of the motor manufacturer.

We hope our visitors left with good memories of their trip and we look forward to welcoming apprentices back to Liverpool this time next year.
