To understand the purpose of conducting an assessment of Substances and Materials, which are Used, Handled, Transported and Stored in the place of work, the maintenance of Records and instituting controls are required.

Basic toxicology – how hazardous substances affect the body
Sources of information – safety data sheets
Suitable and sufficient assessment – how to comply with the requirements
Control measures – how to select, implement and maintain
The role of measurement and monitoring - personal and area monitoring
Adequate control of exposure – the role of exposure limits
The role, selection, use, storage and maintenance of personal protective equipment
Managers, Supervisors and anyone else involved in the assessment of hazardous substances.
On successful completion of this course, candidates will be issued with a North West Training Council Certificate.
