Engineering Apprenticeships usually last for two years during which time you will attend our Training Centre on a day release or full time basis to obtain your National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 2 Performing Engineering Operations, Technical Certificate Level 2 and Key Skills. If you are employed, you will normally attend the Centre on a day release basis and the remainder of the time will be spent with your employer. NWTC will monitor your apprenticeship on a regular basis to ensure you obtain the qualifications you need to be awarded a Certificate of Apprenticeship.
The installation and maintenance of electrical/electronic plant and equipment in a variety of Manufacturing and
Service Industries.
Using turning, milling, boring and other special machines to shape components and produce high quality finishes.
Bending, forming and welding plate, pipework and sheet metal. Manufacturing of Steel Fabrications used in the Construction
Industry.
The installation and maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment in a variety of Manufacturing and Service
Industries.
January to August. Most apprenticeships commence in September of each year.
