The Certificate in Fabrication and Welding is made up of units that provide learners with essential knowledge and practical skills to support future progress.
This is a vocational (work related) course involving practical and theory based work. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you are interested in, you will develop the skills you need to start and/or further develop your education and career.
Attendance is 4 days a week and will be for a period of 3 months.
On successful completion of this course there is the possibility of an employed apprenticeship with NWTC or one of our member companies.
January to August. Most courses commence in September of each year.

You are required to sit a selection test.
You should have or hope to gain Grade C or above in GCSE Maths, English, Science and a Technical Subject.
Some evidence of practical ability and an interest in engineering would be an advantage.
If you obtain the necessary grade in the Selection Test, you will be invited to attend an interview with out Training Officers before being offered a place on the course.
