ACS

  

North West Training Council
 is a BPEC Approved Domestic Assessment Centre fully equipped
to cater for Individuals within the gas industry.

 

Certificates of competency are required for CORGI registration in the areas of gas work intended.

Initial ACS Assessment

 

1st time assessment for individuals with either:
 
a)     Formal gas qualifications e.g. expired ACOPS, ACS (more than 12 months) or NVQ/SVQ in Gas Services, Installation & Maintenance at Level II or III., etc.
or
b)     No previous formal gas qualifications but can provide evidence of work completed under the supervision of a competent CORGI Registered person.  (As per CORGI guidance documentation)
 

ACS Re-Assessment

 
a)          Current ACS certificate/s due to expire
or
b)          ACS certificate/s expired within the previous 12 months.
 
Assessment processes take place under controlled conditions whereby candidates are required to demonstrate competency in gas safety in order to attain the necessary certificates.

COOKERS                                                              -                  CKR1
FIRES & HEATERS                                                 -                  HTR1
WATER HEATERS                                                  -                  WAT1
WET CENTRAL HEATING                                     -                  CEN1
WARM AIR HEATING                                          -                  DAH1
METERS                                                                 -                  MET1
COMBUSTION PERFORMANCE ANALYSER   -                    CPA1
(CPA1 is a pre-requisite to CEN1 & HTR1)

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Refresher/Update Training

There is no pre-requisite for candidates to undertake any training prior to assessment; however, flexible-training programmes covering all areas of domestic gas work can be tailored to suit individuals wishing to update or refresh their knowledge.
 
The Workshop and Resource areas house varied and up to date equipment and documentation necessary to meet changes within the Gas Industry.
 
The Centres have undergone rigorous examination to ensure the assessment standards meet the UKAS National criteria and that all administration and management systems comply with certification body requirements.
