North West Training Council provide practical, pragmatic training designed specifically to meet the needs of industry. From apprentices to senior managers, NWTC has helped over 20,000 employees realise their full potential.
We have been training apprentices in the construction and engineering trades for over 47 years. Our staff now teach a growing number of educational programmes, which underpin the vocational courses we provide. We are an accredited centre with BTEC (EdExcel), and City & Guilds, EAL and offer a wide range of courses, which will complement the training of your apprentices.

If you employ one of our apprentices or place your own apprentice with us, we will place them on a registered training programme to NVQ Level 2 or 3. We will provide a full monitoring service, and one of our Training Officers will visit your learner on a regular basis providing you with a constant update of their training.
There are many areas of work where specific nationally recognised certificates are essential. We provide a wide range of courses to cater for these requirements i.e.: - 17th Edition Electrical Installation, Portable Appliance Testing, Manual Handling, Management of Health and Safety, Fork-Lift Truck, ACS Gas Installer’s Certificate, Power Press, COSHH (care of substances hazardous to health), Risk Assessment and many, many more.
Or Multi-skilling as it is more commonly known. Companies are always looking for more efficient working methods in their engineering departments. NWTC has worked with numerous companies to devise different programmes, tailored to suit the individual needs of each organisation. These programmes include Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance, Electronics, PLC, CNC and Welding to National and International standards.
NWTC has a long history of helping first time supervisors and managers to adapt to their new roles. We now provide training; consultancy and career development assistance to people at all levels. We have also developed a range of senior management and consultancy programmes, including EU funded initiatives.
