Modern Slavery

NWTC’s commitment to Modern Slavery

At North West Training Council we are committed to doing the right thing in the right way.

Our policies and procedures aim to ensure that the highest standards of ethics and integrity are maintained. As a key operator in the training industry and commercial sector, we recognise that we have a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking and we are fully committed to combating slavery and human trafficking. The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“the Act”) came into force on 29 October 2015.

The Act requires organisations carrying on business in the UK that supply goods or services and have a minimum turnover of £36 million to produce a slavery and human trafficking statement each financial year setting out the steps the organisation has taken to ensure modern slavery is not taking place in its supply chain or own business. Even though we have an annual turnover of less than £36 million as part of due diligence on our supply chain, we are contacting selected key suppliers to confirm they are adhering to the Act of the requirements placed upon their organisation by the Act.
